Venice is a unique city – a medieval city locked in time, anchored between land and sea. At the mercy of tides, winds and high seas in the Adriatic. The Venetian people carved and shaped their city out of the shifting sands of the Venetian lagoon. The Venetians are a tough, resilient and creative bunch. I’m particularly inspired by Paolo Pelosin, a skilled paper maker. He has a small shop in San Polo, near Rialto. The shop is a treasure trove of note books, decorated paper, folders, book marks and pencils. All uniquely hand coloured by Paolo. Next time you are in Venice pop in and make a purchase. The shop is brimming with beauty.
