On this pleasant spring morning in England, as the sun starts to warm the garden and our plants, I’m thinking of Cefalu. A delightful small town on Sicily’s north coast. Cefalu is one of those traditional, stone built settlements that seems to rise out of the cliffs, houses tumble down the hillside, one on top of the other, to the water’s edge. In the summer children play on the beach, just steps from their homes. Cefalu also has the most incredible cathedral, dating from the 12th century and containing spectacular mosaics (Byzantine in style) within. Sicily is the most interesting island in the Mediterranean, a must visit destination in 2021.
