Discover the magic of France, Italy and Switzerland with Grand Tourist. Mountains, valleys, historic towns, family-run farms and vineyards, private museums, unique restaurants, hidden palaces.
Grand Tourist is a unique travel company offering exceptional experiences for independent travellers.
Grand Tourist was established in 2005 in Great Britain. We are privately owned and offer exceptional itinerary planning, amazing journeys and the most original ideas. From London to Rome, Paris to Geneva, Venice to Athens, Istanbul to Vienna, Madrid to Granada.
Our inspiration comes from the ‘Grand Tour’ of the 18th century, when British ladies and gentlemen travelled through France and Italy to discover art, culture, history and the treasures of Ancient Rome and Greece. We specialise in unique journeys through France, Switzerland, Italy and the Mediterranean region. We offer a very high quality personal service to our clients and we pride ourselves on our attention to detail.
We speak French, Spanish, Italian and German in the office and we welcome clients from all over the world.
Every Grand Tourist itinerary features a unique and exceptional experience - a private visit to a vineyard in the Prosecco region of Italy perhaps. For lovers of fine food a gastronomic dinner in one of Italy's finest restaurants is a must. Our guests regularly experience fabulous cuisine and hospitality. From Osteria Francescana, Modena to Ristorante Oseleta at Villa Cordevigo, near Lake Garda.
We offer travel consultancy services, itinerary planning, location services for film crews and independent hotel inspection. Our ability to make things happen is impressive - we regularly book magnificent motor boats on the lagoon of Venice. We offer visits to private homes, secluded vineyards and magical terraces.
Just a month ago our clients visited Aquileia, a Roman city just east of Venice. After lunch in a local fish restaurant we had a private tour of a boat yard, where hand-crafted solid wood boats (Riva style) are built. Another of our clients, a lady in a wheelchair, enjoyed a tour of the Doge's Palace, Venice with unique access to the hidden galleries and off-limits corridors of this spectacular palace. We popped up in the Throne Room through a secret door in the wood panelling.
Happy travels from the GT team,
Janet, Matthew, Lucy and William
