I was lucky enough to have lunch in the famous Campo of Siena yesterday - I'd strongly recommend lunch in this historic and magical square. Visiting Florence in the summer months is a magical experience. The Uffizi Gallery offers a magnificent range of paintings and the finest collection of work by artisit Botticelli in the world - including The Birth of Venus' and 'Primavera' (Springtime).
The city itself is a living museum with wonderful piazzas, palaces and panoramas.... The view from the Piazzale Michelangelo over the city to the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio is sublime.
