WINTER WONDERLAND IN VAL D'ISERE, FRANCE winter season

The legendary ski resort of Val d'Isere sits at an altitude of 1850 metres and features one of the longest winter seasons in Europe, stretching from the end of November right through to the beginning of May.

The diverse terrain of Val D'Isere combined with the neighbouring resort of Tignes completes the Espace Killy, affectionately known as 'le plus bel espace de ski au mode' - literally translated as 'the most beautiful ski area in the world'. The Espace Killy offers both beginners and experienced skiers over 300km of marked pistes along with endless off-piste skiing and one of the most advanced lift systems in the world.

We suggest staying at a magnificent mountain retreat situated at the top of the Legettaz area of Val d'Isere and snuggled into the side of the Solaise Mountain. A short walk from the nursery slopes of Val d'Isere, the lodges benefit from uninterrupted views over the Manchet Valley opening out on the the calming magic of the Vanoise National Park. The mountain range to the right of the largest chalet is called the Rocher du Charvet where you will find the well known blue run 'Santons' and the more challenging black run 'Epaule de Charvet'.

The lodges are situated in a private and tranquil hill top location with breathtaking views. The five chalets are traditionally designed ski-in / ski-out chalets, elegantly furnished and beautifully equipped. The chalets can accommodate a range of group sizes from 20 guests (in the largest) to the more intimate chalet which can sleep 8 guests.

Each lodge has its own chef serving the finest French cuisine. There is also a large selection of wine wines to choose from. Breakfast and afternoon tea is served daily with an option for lunch. The lodges also offer an excellent chauffeur service so you never have to worry about transport to and from the chalet which is available during your stay from 8am until 2am in the morning.

After a day's skiing, what better way to relax than in one of the chalet's outdoor hot tubs with a glass of champagne and magnificent Alpine views.

For non skiers there are plenty of different activities in the resort for adults and children alike. There are an abundance of alpine walks and snowshoe trails or alternatively the town offers shops, cafes and a luxury spa. For those looking for a more adrenaline packed activity, then we would be more than happy to arrange husky rides, skidoos, ice climbing, go-karting or ice diving. Just let us know and we can arrange it all for you.

Grand Tourist would be delighted to help with all aspects of your stay including private transfers, restaurant bookings and ski hire. This mountain retreat is ideal for groups of families or friends as well as small corporate incentive groups.
