Villa d’Este, Cernobbio - on the shores of Lake Como. Como is the most beautiful of the Italian lakes. In fact George Clooney has a home here. Nestling on the shores of the lake is Villa d’Este - an elegant & smart ‘palace’ with huge rooms, great views and wonderful service. It offers guests 3 different swimming pools including the famous ‘floating pool’ on the lake.
Il Splendido, Portofino. Possibly the prettiest natural harbour in the Mediterranean – Portofino is a mecca for boat owners and glamourous types during the summer months. For a couple of days of complete decadence head for Il Splendido and enjoy every minute!
Villa La Vedetta, over-looking Florence. A relative new-comer to the luxury scene – this stylish and intimate hotel is simply stunning. Boutique-style and peacefully located and yet just a short walk (or complimentary shuttle bus ride) to the Ponte Vecchio, Duomo and historic centre.
Cipriani, Venice. If you are going to Venice for luxury then it has to be the Cipriani. It is by far the best hotel in the city, in my opinion, and probably one of Italy’s finest hotels. Located on the island of Guidecca, a short boat ride across the lagoon. The hotel has amazing rooms and suites, wonderful gardens and an Olympic-size pool!
